Pablo González Casanova, President (Mexico)
Sociologist. President of the Consejo de la Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (Latin American School of Social Sciences’ Council), with head offices in Santiago de Chile, from 1959 to 1965. Director of the Institute for Social Research of the UNAM (national autonomous university of Mexico) from 1966 to 1970. Rector of the UNAM from May 6, 1970 to December 7, 1972. During his term the academic reform of the Universtity was deepened, Sciences and Human Sciences Schools were created as well as the Open University System. President of the Latin American Sociology Association from 1969 to 1972 and from 1983 to 1985. Director of the Center for Multidisciplinary Human Sciences Research since 1986. 1984 National Awards of History, Social Sciences and Philosophy. Professor Emeritus of the Political and Social Sciences of UNAM since May 1984. Researcher Emeritus of the Social Research Institute of UNAM since May, 1984. Some of his books are: Las categorías del desarrollo económico y la investigación en Ciencias Sociales, Sociología de la explotación, El estado de los partidos políticos en México, Imperialismo y liberación en América Latina, La democracia en México, La hegemonía del pueblo y la lucha centro-americana, Las nuevas ciencias.

Eric Toussaint (Belgium)
Economist, historian and political scientist, president of the Committee for the Abolition of the Third World Debt (CADTM), international committee with offices in Belgium which advocates radical actions towards the respect of fundamental human rights and freedoms. Among his published works are: La Bolsa o la Vida. Las Finanzas contra los pueblos; 50 preguntas 50 respuestas sobre la deuda, el FMI y el Banco Mundial; and Los tsunamis de la deuda.

Carmen Bohórquez Morán (Venezuela)
Historian and philosopher. Permanent Professor Emeritus of the University of Zulia. She has published numerous books, articles and essays on philosophical and historical topics related to Francisco de Miranda. She has worked research director at the “Rómulo Gallegos" Institute, Caracas, International Relations Director at the Ministry of Culture and president of the Presidential Committee for the Celebration of the Bicentennial Anniversary of the Revolutionary Expedition of Fransisco Miranda. Among her published works are: Francisco de Miranda. Precursor de las independencias de la América Latina. She is the chairperson of the international coordination office of the “Red de Intelectuales y Artistas en Defensa de la Humanidad” (network of intellectuals and artists in defense of humanity), chapter Venezuela.

Gianni Vattimo (Italy)
Philosopher. He was Aestethetic professor at the Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia of Turin; he was also Dean of said School. He has worked as invited professor at Yale University in the US, at the University of Los Angeles, at the New York University and at the State University of New York. He was granted the ‘Honoris Causa’ Doctor Degree by the Universities of Palermo and La Plata, Argentina, He is also vicepresident of the Academía de la Latinidade. Among his translated works into Spanish Language are: Las aventuras de la diferencia. Eliades Acosta Matos (Cuba)
Historian. He obtained his Bachelor Degree in Philosophy in 1982, upon completion of studies at the State University of Rostov-on-Don (USSR). He has worked closely linked to artistic and literary media, especially in essay-writing and journalism. He has been collaborating regularly with Cuban and foreign publications like "El Caimán Barbudo", "América Nuestra", "Contracorriente" and "Perfil de Santiago". He has been part of the editorial borrad of several publications. He has also performed as professor, delivering lectures in Cuba and abroad about current issues of Cuban culture, philosophy, history, arts and politics. Director of the National Library of Cuba since 1997. Among his published works are: Los hermanos Santiagueros de Martí, El árbol de la discordia, El siboney de los cubanos, Los colores secretos del Imperio and El apocalipsis según San George.
